About the program

We provide emergency food hampers for people who are not yet receiving assistance from the local food bank, are experiencing an emergency such as natural disaster, an unexpected financial hardship, or are struggling to make ends meet. If you are in need of on-going supports we can assist in applying with the local food bank.

Emergency Food Hamper clients come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • Working families, and single mothers or fathers
  • Seniors
  • Individuals trying to make ends meet
  • People dealing with a natural disaster (Fire, Flood, etc.)
  • New immigrants and residents of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows
  • Parents and/or children with disabilities

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I qualify?

    In order to qualify for our Emergency Food Hamper program applicants must posses ALL of the following criteria:

    1. Currently reside in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows.
    2. Struggling with low income or are in need of additional resources.
    3. Have the ability to provide current proof of income and photo ID or be referred by another agency.
  • How do I apply?

    Just start your online application. Our team will contact you soon after you have submitted your intake form.

    Please note: When you apply be prepared to provide proof of income. This must be a bank statement showing contents of all accounts and/or pay stubs (from employment or other sources). Proof of income can be submitted via. email or in person when prompted.

    For those who don’t have access to a computer or smart phone, experience language barriers, or have a disability that may make applying online difficult please contact Corina (our Community & Family Services Advocate) at 604-463-8296, ext. 112 or write an email.

  • Can I apply on behalf some someone else?

    Yes, whether you are a family member, caseworker, or another agency worker applying on behalf of someone else, you can start the online application. Our team will contact you soon after you have submitted your intake form.

  • When will I receive my Emergency Food Hamper?

    Once we have reviewed your application our team will contact you to book a day/time to pick up your hamper.

    Donation opportunities

    We are always looking for donations to our Emergency Food Hamper Program.

    Please drop off non-perishable food items, and other essentials to our Admin Office, or click the Donate button below to provide a monetary donation.
