16 Aug Beyond Maple Ridge

A few months ago, we introduced you to Kristi Blakeway, a Maple Ridge resident and teacher who has a heart social justice.  Ms. Blakeway works with high school students and residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to go beyond a simple hello, and to really get to know the person beyond appearances.  Her passion for breaking down boundaries and societal judgement, and to get to know Vancouver’s homeless population is commendable, and the lessons this teaches the youth she works with are unparalleled.

Recently, Ms. Blakeway and a student from Maple Ridge Secondary went Beyond Hello, grabbed some sandwiches from one of our local restaurants, and sat down with Ken.  Click the link to read more about how the Beyond Hello program went “Beyond Maple Ridge”.
