In partnership with local community-minded businesses and organizations, we collect and distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to over 350 students, with the demand climbing year after year. We feel that providing these items for students give them the ability to start the school year off on the right foot to focus on learning and their future success!

Back to School clients come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • Children of single mothers or single fathers
  • Children of working families trying to make ends meet
  • Children of seniors with custody of their grandchildren
  • Children of new immigrant families

How do I qualify?

In order to qualify for our Back to School program families must posses ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Resident of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows
  2. Families with low income or are in need of additional resources
  3. Families with children school aged children attending Kindergarten – Grade 12

Proof of address may be requested.

How do I apply?

Please note: When you apply be prepared to provide proof of income. This can be a bank statement showing contents of all accounts and/or pay stubs (from employment or other sources). Proof of income can be uploaded to your online application or copies can be submitted via. email if you choose to print your application.

Can I register on behalf of someone else?

Yes!

If you are a caseworker, support worker, or SD42 worker you are welcome to assist  your client in starting their registration. Once we receive the online form we will reach out the the applicant for confirmation and to finalize the application. When will my child receive their school supplies?

Backpacks with school supplies will be distributed on Friday, August 26th at our Back to School fair to be held at Christian Life Assembly Church parking lot (11756 232 St.) from 10am – 2pm.

Once you have received a confirmation email or verbal confirmation that you are fully registered, there is no further action needed.

What is included in their school supply kit?

Please note this program is designed as a subsidiary program.

Due to the vastly different needs that occur school-to-school, and even classroom-to-classroom, we are unable to provide every item found on your school’s supply list. Our school supply kits are designed to provide children with the most commonly needed supplies for their grade group. Once you have completed your registration our team will email you with a full list of items you can expected to receive from us. Please compare this list with your school’s supply list to complete the shopping needed for your child.

What if my child doesn't receive their school supplies?

If you are unable to attend our Back to School fair to collect your students’ backpacks, please contact us.

Please note that your school supplies will be sorted by the school listed on your registration. If you have transferred schools since you submitted your registration please contact us immediately.
