Camp + COVID-19

Each year, The Salvation Army Ridge Meadows sends hundreds of local kids to camp on the Sunshine Coast for a week. A week at camp is a chance for many vulnerable children in our community to just be kids.

Sadly, we are unable to operate our Summer Camp program this year, yet many TSA camps are keeping the spirit and intention of camp alive, in spite of COVID-19 challenges.  It is believed that there are five foundational aspects that camp provides our campers:

A safe environment for children and youth.

A sense of community.

A medium for connecting with God.

Leadership development.

A practical and direct means through which we serve and are a transforming influence in the communities of our area.

How can we apply these foundations for our community’s youth this summer, while still observing provincial and social health guidelines?
